While some critics have claimed that the song might be a response to a previous love song about how women can do things about love for themselves and truly do not need anyone to be doing it for them. If we look at the lyrics closely, the song points out how instead of looking for love outside, one must find it from within.



The song is more like a breakup and self love anthem. Miley is really inspirational when she urges people to know how she can do things and make herself happier than any other man can.


This song is about the level of confidence one must have in themselves. She doesn't see herself as less worthy of anything good but only talks about how she can get better at what anybody else can offer.


It might be weird if you say that the song is not about love, in fact, it is truly everything about love, but a love that makes you independent. Even the video highlights how Miley is feeling happy in her own skin and making the most out of doing things for herself.
