Is One Direction Band the Biggest Band Ever?

One Direction often called 1D is an English-Irish pop boy band. All boys between 16 to 18 years old at the time of formation. It was formed in London, England in the year 2010 during a British television singing show named The X FACTOR.

The group is composed of five members, NAILL HORAN (born on 23rd September 1993 at Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland), LIAM PAYNE (born on 29th August 1993 at Wolverhampton, West Midlands), England), LOUIS TOMLINSON (born on December 1991 at Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England), HARRY STYLES (born on 1st February 1994 at Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England) and ZAYN MALIK (born on 12th January 1993 at Bradford, West Yorkshire, England) until he departed from the group in March 2015.

ALL five members auditioned as a solo for The X Factor show in 2010 but they didn’t get much progress as solo singers. Then two of the X Factor judges, NICOLE SCHERZINGER, a guest judge and SIMON COWELL came up with the idea to put all these five boys together to form a band. Then it was Harry Styles who came up with the name one direction. They were all teens when they were advised that they would be better together than as solo artists.

An acoustic version of TORN was sung by the group One Direction as their first song. During the competition, the group gained popularity very quickly. They finished third in the competition.

They were considered TEEN IDOLS. The band's WHERE WE ARE TOUR which was in support of MIDNIGHT MEMORIES was the highest-grossing concert tour in 2014. It was the highest-grossing tour by a vocal group in history and the 15th highest-grossing concert tour of all time. 

The group went on so many hiatus (on pause) in January 2016 as to allow members to work on other projects.

They gained so much attention and attraction from female viewers for their stage performance and their absolutely outstanding vocal skills. 

Their album named UP AL NIGHT released in 2011 which was filled with cheery harmonized pop songs about first heartbreak, and carefree revelry was the immediately get hit album not only at home but also in other European and Commonwealth countries. 

Most of its popularity was gained because of the song WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL an empowering anthem that topped both the British and Irish single charts and also named best British single at the Brut Awards in early 2012. Then the band went on to gain more and more population by releasing more hit albums like TAKE ME HOME (2012), FOUR(2014), Made in the A.M.(2015) and so many hit songs.

Then one direction announced that Zayn Malik had left the group for his solo career. But the remaining four members continued to tour but after a while, they also announced hiatus and continued to issue their solo albums thereafter.

Even after taking a pause from the band, ZAYN MALIK was the most successful solo artist but now HARRY STYLES has taken the lead of the most successful solo artist. After the band goes on hiatus for the last time Harry released his first solo song SIGN OF THE TIMES in 2017 which was a great hit which topped U.K. Singles Chart and the album that he titled with his own name. 

He also made his debut as an actor in the film DUNKIRK (2017)in which he played the role of a British soldier in World war - II. After that, he released many albums which all were hit and also won many awards for them. He also started to do charity from the proceeds of his concerts and tours. Also took moments to bring awareness for gender equality, and equal rights for everyone, and promoted the slogan TREAT EVERYONE WITH KINDNESS. 

Styles received many nominations for his songs and albums. He also received the  Grammy Award 2021 for Best Pop Solo Performance for his song “Watermelon Sugar” for which he also won the 2021 BRIT Award for British Single of the Year. Is One Direction Band the Biggest Band Ever?

In short, Harry Styles has all the spotlight as he always comes up with a new masterpiece and wins everyone's heart. Besides this, the lovers of the band One Direction still wants 1D members to come as a band. They still hope that one day one direction members will announce that they are returning together again to make One Direction Band alive.
