Productive Morning Habits That Can Make You Feel Your Best

“Productivity is being able to do things that you were never able to do before.”
-Franz Kafka, writer

Do you love being a morning person? Do you have a love and hate relationship with your alarm? Have you tried practising different productive morning habits but can't seem to settle on one? Do you feel lazy the entire day when you wake up late in the mornings?

Over the time, we have been reading about how waking up early in the morning is important to be successful. To what extent is this true? Is this practical for everybody? Mornings are definitely good if you make the most out of it. You can get more work done and have a good start for your day.

What is it about morning routines? The best morning routine is the one that is practical and in easier ways possible for you. It should be a routine that you look up to and not run away from. It should promote mental and physical wellness and give way to a positive mindset.

When you wake up early to the smell of hot honey lemon water or green smoothies, you feel motivated to push yourself to have a workout. The amount of serotonin you get after having a good workout sesh is something that cannot be expressed in words.

From avoiding checking your phone, the first thing in the morning that you should do is to take deep breaths, say out your affirmations and be thankful to experience another beautiful day.

Whether you are a morning person or not, creating a wellness routine is more important than creating a strict morning routine. It motivates you to look forward to what this new day has in store of you.

Here are some productive morning habits that you can work on to create a wellness routine that can work the best for you.

To have a good morning, it's important to have a good night’s sleep. Try going to bed 5 mins earlier than you did the previous day. Block out all distractions, avoid using digital screens 30 mins before going to bed. Try habits like reading or listening to podcasts, making tea, hot water or just pampering your skin.

“Action is the foundational key to all success.”
-Picasso, Spanish painter

For a wellness routine you don't have to wake up at 5 in the morning, pick a time that's practical for you and the one that you can stick to. Don't immediately check out instagram posts or reply to the phone messages. This should be your time. Practice meditation and stretch your body a little.

Get  the sun, have a warm glass of water and take in some fresh air. Do yoga or any workout that you enjoy doing. Listen to some positive podcasts or even light, refreshing and soothing music. Go for a walk, reconnect with nature, it helps immensely.

The next good thing to do is make yourself your favourite cup of tea or coffee. Cook a healthy breakfast and make sure to add all essential nutrients to it.

A packed and healthy breakfast and the one that is planned ahead is better than all fast options.
Take time to pamper your body. Make space for hygiene . give your body time to enjoy this procedure. Do some skincare and go for long happy showers, maybe even sing and dance a little in it.

Now that you’ve given your body the basic attention that it needs, resort to making your to-do lists, focus on shorter lists and try accomplishing them all on priority basis.

Call and check up on your loved ones, tell them how you started your day and what you expect out of the remaining day. Ask them how they started their mornings and share something positive that makes them smile.

“Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.”
Stephen King, American author

Setting a wellness routine may seem easy but sticking to it is definitely a task. But nothing feels better than being able to love your body and accomplish your goals for each day.

Spend time with yourself and everything will fall into place. Practice these productive morning habits to begin with.Do not forget that it's a journey, a lifelong process and not just a hobby and see the game beginning to change.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
Steve Jobs, American business magnate and investor
